This is what I was looking for. I think this is a keeper.

Officer Van Winker, enjoys taking down a hot, greasy, reasonably suspicious lunch at the local taco stand.

SalutationA

this is a more mature image of a concept I drew a few weeks back. It is still lacking something the hunt continues

the mighty footprint

I have been toying with an American themed image that reflects my thoughts of the current state of things. I see it being something similar to this post.

brain sketch

The beginnings of an idea I have for a piece I would like to hang in my living room.

Jon Secada

Unleash the Kraken

Tweeter

I saw a young fella texting outside on his phone the other day, and a bird was singing in the background. The kid looked as if he was getting annoyed with the bird, as if it was disrupting his focus. I thought isn't it interesting that we don't find technologies like twitter annoying? Instead we find nature to be the annoyance. Here is a quick sketch of how I saw the situation.

queue for thought

I had a thought at lunch, America thinks it is like a really posh club and there is a queue waiting outside to get in. In reality the club is pretty dead inside, because the guard out front is not letting everyone in. We are so worried about filtering "good from bad" that we miss the point entirely. This idea would make for a good illustration.

whoo?

I need to dust off my airbrush skills for this one. I found an old painting at a thrift store and I am looking to updated so I can hang it in the house.

while I wait

I have a few projects in the fire but for the time between projects I figured I would give myself some more projects. One is to fill the wall space in my house with photos and paintings. There is a large area in the stair well that I would like to put up some color so this is a preliminary design for a canvas piece that would go nicely.

Los Caprichos

These etchings are great. I digg Fransisco de Goya. because he has a "de" in his name. I am thinking about renovating this series into a contemporary portrayal the problem is there are 80 plates and I don't have a lot of time so they might be compromised. such as life.

water and Mexicans

If you control the water and the Mexicans you have yourself a successful western city. This is how Phoenix was built. I am realizing that through the forceful nature of "western settlers" we have adopted a intrusive pattern on both nature and humanity. The rivers that once flowed through Phoenix are now capped and dry and the free range of cattle and humans has now been fenced and prodded back where they belong. If this is the legacy that Phoenix really brings then there is something that needs to be said. I am not sure if I am the one to say it loudly but I will speak it quietly to myself.
